Monmouth came off a 475-day layoff last Saturday looking to make up for lost time, scoring touchdowns on three of its first four drives to take a quick 21-3 lead en route to a 36-17 win over Charleston Southern.
The Gardner Webb Runnin Bulldogs currently sit with a 2-0 record overall but their last game took overtime to get the job done. Heading into the 4th quarter, the Bulldogs were leading but they were outscored 14-10 and that led to overtime even happening.
The Monmouth Hawks who played one game this season against Charleston Southern, and it was Monmouth that was able to come away with the 35-17 victory. At the end of the first quarter, Monmouth was leading 14-3 and there was no looking back as they were able to come away with the victory.
