James Harden exited Wednesday’s game against the Houston Rockets with hamstring tightness, the Nets announced.
The Nets star had posted 17 points with eight rebounds and six assists in 27 minutes against his former team, leaving the game with 4:48 remaining.
“We’re gonna monitor it. I don’t have a lot to tell you,” coach Steve Nash said after the 120-108 win that put the Nets alone atop the Eastern Conference standings. “We feel confident it’s not a long-term thing.”
The Nets had better hope not.
Harden carried the Nets while they were without two members of their Big 3, including Kevin Durant — sidelined since Feb. 13 with a hamstring strain. A Harden absence would put even more pressure on Kyrie Irving, who returned on Monday from family leave.
